CIO DIGEST SMS

Program description

CIO Digest SMS delivers a personalized daily morning briefing as a text message to subscribers who have explicitly opted in. Each message contains a short summary of weather, transit, schedule pulses, plus a secure 24-hour magic link and 6-digit fallback code that opens the subscriber's personal digest page.

How to opt in (double opt-in flow)

1. Sign up for a free CIO Digest account at ciodigest.app/onboarding by entering your email and confirming a 6-digit code.
2. Once signed in, navigate to Settings → SMS digest (under your briefing on ciodigest.app/digest/<your-slug>/settings).
3. Toggle the SMS digest switch to On and enter your mobile phone number in international (E.164) format, e.g. +15551234567.
4. Click Send code. We send a 6-digit verification code to that number via Twilio Verify.
5. Enter the 6-digit code back into the Settings page and click Confirm. Your phone is now verified and SMS delivery is enabled.
6. Pick your daily frequency (1×, 2×, or 3× per day) and your delivery time. You can change these anytime in Settings.

This is a double opt-in: account creation + explicit phone confirmation. No SMS is sent until both are completed.

What you'll receive

• Daily briefing SMS — one message each morning with your briefing's top story and a secure link to your full digest.
• One-time verification codes — when you opt in, change your phone number, or sign in.
• Occasional account notices — billing receipts, security alerts, or major service announcements.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message. You'll receive a confirmation that you've been unsubscribed and no further messages will be sent.

Other accepted opt-out keywords: STOPALL · UNSUBSCRIBE · CANCEL · END · QUIT

To rejoin later, reply START or UNSTOP, or re-verify your phone in Settings.

Costs and frequency

• Frequency: 1–3 messages per day (you choose) plus occasional verification codes.
• Cost: CIO Digest does not charge for the SMS itself. Standard message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.
• Carriers supported: US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, Sprint, and most regional providers.

Terms and carrier notice

By opting in to CIO Digest SMS, you agree to the CIO Digest Terms of Service and acknowledge that message and data rates may apply.

Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy

Your phone number is stored securely in our database (encrypted at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit) and used only to deliver the messages described above. We never sell or share it with advertisers. Mobile information, text messaging originator opt-in data, and consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
