Pilot terms

1. Your invitation and account

Pilot access requires an invitation and verification of your email address. Invitations can expire, be revoked, or be assigned to a specific address, and can be redeemed once. Returning members can sign in without another invitation. Keep your sign-in codes private and use an email address you control.

Accounts are individual and intended for professionals aged 16 or older. Do not impersonate another person, share account access, send unwanted messages, or interfere with the service.

2. What the pilot includes

Each edition contains five items across security, AI, and cloud, with source links, dates, factual summaries, independent analysis, and actions to consider. The reviewed edition is shared across the pilot; your preferred topic changes the order of the items.

AI assists drafting. An editor reviews each edition before release. Publisher announcements may describe early access, limited availability, or vendor claims; follow the source link and verify anything material to your decision. CIO Digest is independent of the publishers.

The pilot offers web access, optional weekday email, and optional SMS after phone verification. SMS can be paused by the operator or switched off by each member. It does not include audio, PDF exports, calendar connections, weather, commute information, sponsored placements, or automated sharing.

3. Three briefings, with no automatic charge

Your pilot begins when you complete setup and lasts for up to three successful weekday briefings within seven calendar days. A briefing counts once per date in your selected timezone when you open a populated, approved edition on the web or our email or SMS provider accepts its delivery. Web, email, and SMS share the same allowance. Provider acceptance does not guarantee arrival or that you read the message.

Weekends and unavailable or unapproved editions do not use a briefing, but the seven-day window still runs. You can reread an opened edition for the rest of that day, within the access window. Your preferences show the remaining allowance.

No card is required, and the pilot never converts automatically to a paid subscription. When access ends, you can still read the public sample. Paid enrollment is currently closed; published prices describe a proposed future plan, not a purchase or charge. Existing subscriptions remain separately managed through account settings.

4. Email and the public waitlist

Choose email delivery or web-only access during setup. Email follows your selected timezone and requested weekday time after editorial approval; a late review can delay delivery. Turn email off in Preferences or use the unsubscribe link in a briefing. Unsubscribing from the briefing does not delete your account or cancel an existing subscription.

Joining the public waitlist is separate from joining the pilot. A waitlist request requires email confirmation and does not grant product access. Waitlist permission covers service-launch updates; it does not enroll you in unrelated marketing.

Optional SMS

SMS requires separate consent and verification of a mobile number you control. Verification sends a code and, after approval, a confirmation. Once you enable delivery, we send up to one weekday briefing with a secure link, at or after your selected time between 08:00 and 21:00 in your timezone, after editorial approval. Message and data rates may apply. SMS is optional and is not a condition of purchase.

Turn SMS off in Preferences or reply STOP to stop. Reply HELP for help. START and fresh phone verification can restore consent; check your delivery preference before expecting briefings. The operator can pause SMS during testing. See the SMS program details.

SMS reading links expire after 24 hours and must be deliberately opened. Do not forward them: they grant access to your briefing. They do not grant account settings access.

5. Content and feedback

Publisher material remains subject to its owners' rights. Source links do not imply a partnership, endorsement, or a license to republish their articles or images. Do not redistribute CIO Digest briefings as a competing service or remove their attribution.

You may send optional relevance feedback to help us improve the briefing. Avoid including confidential business information or other people's personal data.

6. Availability and decisions

This is a pilot service provided as available. We may pause delivery, withdraw an inaccurate edition, or change the product while testing. Corrections on the web cannot recall an email or SMS already delivered. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, a particular delivery time, or error-free content.

The briefing is informational. It is not security monitoring, incident response, or financial, legal, or other professional advice. Use the original sources and your organization's review process before acting.

7. Ending access and deleting data

You can stop using the service or delete your account in Preferences. Account deletion stops product delivery and removes the active profile and preferences. Any existing subscription must be cancelled successfully before deletion completes. Limited records and backups may remain as described in the Privacy Policy.

Automatic deletion for inactivity is paused during the pilot. We may suspend access for abuse, security concerns, or a breach of these terms. A waitlist withdrawal is a separate choice from account deletion.

8. Legal terms and changes

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months or USD $50. These limits do not exclude rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

New York law governs these terms, subject to mandatory rights that apply to you. Disputes are subject to the courts of New York County, New York. If one provision is unenforceable, the others remain in effect.

We will give notice of material changes through the service or email before they take effect, except where an urgent legal or security need requires immediate action. Pilot enrollment does not authorize a new paid charge or replace an existing billing agreement.
